This month's behind the scenes conversation is a real time. Look at what it actually means to move through a season of growth, especially when clarity doesn't come in the way you expect. As we step into April, we're exploring the shift from flection into action, but not in the hustle driven push through way most people default to.

Instead, this conversation dives into what happens when you pause, listen, and start questioning your relationship with resistance. Pressure and expectations. In this episode, we talk about why this time of year can feel both energizing and potentially overwhelming. How to reconnect to your intentions when motivation drops off the subtle ways pressure blocks progress and waste release it, and what it really looks like to trust yourself without having all the answers.

If you've been feeling a little off stuck between wanting momentum and needing space. This episode will help you recalibrate and move forward in a way that feels aligned.

Welcome to Clear and On Purpose. I'm Christina, and around here we slow down, get honest and talk about the real life moments that shape us each week. I share personal stories, perspective shifts, and simple truths to help you live with more intention and ease. I'm glad you're here.

Alright. Hello again, Christina. How are you?

I am doing good. How about yourself?

Same. We were just talking a moment ago about how it still feels like there's a lot going on. But to that extent, March felt like. For me, the opening of a door, which for which is really exciting and I'm hoping April that momentum builds and in, in a good direction.

I feel like there's some light in the chaos. How about you?

Yeah, I agree. I think that, looking at it and taking this first part of the year. And part of the way that I break up my year and my space is very seasonally and so we just did the spring equinox, we just had. And so this past quarter ish has felt, i've still been allowing myself to kind of be in that reflective energy allowing a little bit more slowness, but I think more intentionality. And I think that is bringing a lot into, now moving into the spring where there is so much going on, there is so much potential. And I think that this really is the time.

A, I think in the Chinese New Year or something. It, it's starting to, I don't remember which one. Maybe that's January. But the astrological new year maybe of Aries. But we start to get into where this is actually where action starts taking place. This is where your energy starts to return. This is the time to be able to cultivate and to be able to.

Kind of really create those intentions and like sow the seeds for that growth to come. And I think this is also the time that as a society who is set on January 1st of this is the new year that this part is the part that feels crunchy. If you were going hot and January and you were, you were doing all the things, you are probably a little exhausted now and your, your intentions and your goals might have f fallen off. Um, but I think it's a really good opportunity to kind of really look at and say like, this is what I thought that I maybe had planned. This is how this kind of felt. And then bringing that and saying, what do I want for this next season? What do I want to take forward? And one of the things that I typically try to think about a lot too is that.

The way that you spend your time is the way that you spend your days and like, what am I doing on a Tuesday? And like, how is that fulfilling my goals? Because I could have all these plans and all these opportunities and all these ideas of things that I wanna do, but if I'm not on a regular daily s um, daily basis, setting those intentions and like making the time for that.

Then it's probably not gonna happen. So just looking back and really being proactive. And I think this year, like I've been really taking a lot more time for community and my friendships and making the time to see the people that I care about and, and bringing that in and making time for creative and inspiration and, and.

Allowing more of that in, and I feel like that that has fueled with me, fueled me with more energy to be able to keep a lot of momentum going on. Business productivity, professional things that I didn't have to necessarily choose one or the other, which I think is what we kind of get into sometimes.

Yes, definitely.

You also reminded me, I had an energy reading in March and one of the things that came out of it was a suggestion that I look at my relationship with resistance.

Mm-hmm.

Which, I still haven't been able to wrap my head around 'cause I work so hard on like, really my relationship with time Awesome.

Or my relationship with fear. Great. Hello Messenger. I'm listening. And now relationship with resistance. I was like, oh man, I don't even know what that looks like, but right now, and I was listening as I was listening to you too, I was like, I think it just means a lot of listening because I don't know the answers and I'm usually somebody who's always very.

Solution oriented awesome, great. How can we find a, like right away, let's aim for the solution. Let's do something, let's figure it out. And I don't have all the solutions right now. So that listening to the resistance and, and trying to figure it out. Feels like a different way of connecting.

Like I think a lot of what you described about and maintaining your relationships and connecting and feeling grounded and listening for me too feels like another aspect of that.

And I think that just continual looking in at like, how do I wanna feel and what do I have control over? I think a lot of the conversations that I've been having with people lately have been, and I think this fits into that resistance piece too, of just like.

Butting up against things or feeling like things should be going a different way than mm-hmm. They are. And I think that that is where we get into that. Whether it's resentment that builds, whether that's dissatisfaction, whether that's a sense of like, just. Anxiety that might show up or like, I'm not doing things right because it's not showing up the way that I think that it should.

And looking at and realizing like, where are my expectations set and are they set at things that are in my control? Am I waiting on circumstances to change? Am I waiting on other people to change? Am I waiting on something else that's outside of me? To be the thing that has to change in order for me to change how I view myself or how I view this relationship, or how I can actually feel the way that I wanna feel, and what are the stories that I'm telling myself.

And I think that this is where the resistance comes into is like if I, if I feel like I'm taking action, I'm doing all the things, maybe the resistance is showing up in like a. You know what? It's actually hard to be in that listening space. It's hard to open myself up to like not having to immediately have the solution and to do it and to, and to take that next step, and how do I instead open up to being able to just tune in a little bit more and maybe that the answer that I'm seeking or the change that I'm seeking.

Or the thing that I think that I need is probably inside me, and if I just open myself up to be able to listen to me and to be able to take ownership on the parts that I actually can. And then, like we've talked about a lot, like releasing that expectation of what it needs to look like to really own what it does and grow into that potential, that what it could be.

Yeah, you've really helped me this month to open up my perspective and I heard some of that in what you were saying right now. Like I've always, in being solution oriented, kind of felt like, okay, if I do these things in my business, that's what then who I am. 'cause I'm doing them every day and I'm moving the needle forward.

And if spirit shines a light in one area, then that's not on me. 'cause I did all that I wanted to do. And now understanding that. That isn't necessarily the approach that works all the time where that's the best, and letting go of some pieces temporarily is, and focusing is not a failure. Like it's really put me back to like, okay, what do you trust?

Right. Well, you, I do believe that things happen at the right time, but I, for, I didn't, you've helped me realize some of my personal power in that, that the right, I get to help. Choose that right time, even without knowing all the right answers. So I think that's really powerful too. 'cause it's, I don't know, I don't know if I'm describing it well, but I've always respected you as someone who clearly is able to align themselves with their values.

And I always think of myself as like that, but I think I was kind of. It's just broadbanding it. And this season has allowed me to see in listening and opening up and being curious and admitting maybe there's a different way of doing it or there's a different way of getting there. That focusing that energy and that time.

It causes, um, a lot of, I have to release a lot of worry and a lot of structure and a lot of the way I do things, but it makes me excited that I might actually do the thing I've wanted to do or, or understand that resistance and move past it and not just kind of bounce around it.

Yeah. Yeah. I think that I, I appreciate that and I think that that has taken a lot.

A lot of intentional effort and I think it's easy for me to be able to say these things and be able to do it and living it is totally different too. So it has really taken me a long time to be able to put into practice all of the things that I am doing and it's, I mean, it's a daily struggle where, you know, I have to continually go back to Regrounding, but what I have.

Realized for me in, in looking at that is that continually returning back to my intentions, continually returning back to those core values and trying to see things differently. So if I notice that, I think that something is not lining up the way that I think, or, this this part feels really hard and I just feel like I'm just like butting my head against, against the wall, or I'm really struggling connecting with this one individual or whatever it might be to be able to then open it up and say, okay, well how do I wanna feel in this and how can I embrace those feelings now?

And how can. And again, I think that sometimes it can can get conflated into like, oh, this toxic positivity and just look for the good and then like ignore all the bad stuff. And that is not what I'm saying at all. I'm just saying if I want to feel like things are flowing, if I want to feel open, if I want to feel.

Like I have energy, I have to do things that will create that feeling for me. And in doing those things and focusing on, on, on just that feeling, it might not be in that specific direction or that specific area that I was struggling with before, but that energy is gonna come all the way around. And what I've noticed is, is this past quarter, like I have not been.

Head down, oh, I need to do all this stuff for my business, whatever. And, and all of my things are actually on the upend. Everything's feeling a little bit easier because I'm taking the time to do other creative ones. And I think it's allowing that resistance to come down a little bit. So, even just like things that typically I just felt like I had to do in a very certain way, or I just made it hard in my head.

I'm doing now and it doesn't feel hard anymore and it's not creating that same thing because I think that looking away, like looking away from the things that are, are causing me like anxiety or causing me like stress or whatever, and just turning towards some of these other things and then being like, and this is still my.

Intention that I'm, I'm doing this stuff over here. That work takes up so much less of my brain space maybe. So it doesn't have the opportunity to grow into this giant thing of like, I have to do all of this stuff and I have this giant list and it has to be done perfectly and it has to, and like overthinking, which I tend to do.

And it just gives it like little bits of. Space and then it stays in that space a little bit more. And then I can go back to the things that are, that are making me feel good and energized, which then makes me show up I think differently in those areas that used to feel sticky.

Yeah. That's amazing.

And I, I just keep hearing what you've told me regularly, lately is how can you take the pressure off?

Mm-hmm.

Because I used to always like, invite ease in and think, okay, how can it be easy? Or what would my, future self, my next. Up, upleveled self do, how would that be for her? But in the moment right now, how can I take the pressure off is actually really helpful because like you said, I, I too get in my head and think and future worry and try to figure it all out when I don't need to figure it all out.

And there's so much effort and time put into that unnecessarily. Yeah. That's been eyeopening too.

Yeah. And I think that like, this is a great time of year to lean into more of that balance. I think we can get, you know, we're just coming off of this time of where it, it's all a little bit darker and things are gonna get lighter.

And just being able to take a moment at this time, you know, the end of March, early April, and just whew, everything is moving more towards. That balance point and that ability to hold the different things and allow and see, it's not gonna stay there because it's not supposed to. But to take that time and say, okay, are the things in my life am I spending equal quality and time and intention that I want to, that this season of my life is calling me to?

Am I hitting those areas or am I focusing so much on one area that maybe these other areas are calling out for some attention? And maybe by taking a little bit back from that, I show up more fully energized, I show up more fully, um, feeling like I am. Myself again. And then it does create a little bit more ease in those things.

And I, and I do think that you still are taking action, you're still doing things, you're still challenging yourself. But the challenge is feeling good. Like it's feeling like I know that I'm moving towards something and I'm not just. Just pushing against something that feels like it's not working and I'm just trying to bust through.

It doesn't feel like I'm trying to bust through. It feels like I'm just seeing what this is like, let the pressure off. I'm just seeing what this is. I'm just I'm playful about it a little bit. It doesn't have to be so serious. And I think a back on, conversations that I think you've also had really great conversations, but I had a guest on the podcast recently and we were talking about like this meaning and whatever, and she's talking about like how the basis of your purpose, your meaning, your whatever.

It wouldn't be yours if it didn't fit into your life. It doesn't mean that you have to grow or, or that you don't have to grow or change, but like. It wouldn't be your purpose if it was unattainable to you. It has to fit into your life. It has to fit into where you are and as that part of your journey and being able to let go of some of the pressure of like, I need to figure it out, or I need to change all these things in order to hit this stuff like.

No it, it has to already be here. So all I have to do is really ground in where I am, really be where I am and see where those opportunities are for me to just grow and evolve and use my strengths and just get a little bit better each day. And that is all of it.

That sounds amazing. And then I hear in my head what you said earlier, it's so much easier said than done.

Buckle up.

And I just wanna say like, too, like I struggle with this stuff on a daily and weekly and monthly basis, and I think that it just helps me to have conversations like this with you. It helps me to have conversations like this with other people that have similar things because it just, it's a reminder to me as well, like, oh yeah.

You do want that stuff.

Amen. I agree. I love these conversations for that reason as well. And I agree. We all deal with it. And that's one reason I appreciate showing this to listeners and having these conversations because it is, like you said, you regular, regularly check in with your intentions. This over, overwhelming is not the right word I wanna, uh, use, but like overview and perspective, and you bring that to all that you do. So taking a step back once a month and having a conversation with yourself and going, oh, right, oh yeah, this isn't feeling good, or that is feeling good, or there was my intention and, and yet I ended up over here.

Or how does this fit or. Am I putting too much pressure on myself? 'cause that's, then I don't hear or see the opportunities. Mm-hmm. Um, I think it's, it's really helpful. 'cause it doesn't, it's not this, like you were saying, it's not a forced reset. It's not like you're trying to bust through your goals to get to the prize at the end.

It's more of a. Who am I and where am I in this moment? Let's come back and gather all my energy so I can be me. 'cause I'm fabulous and what I desire is meant for me. So let's open my own eyes and see that.

Yeah, I think, one of the things that I do like to do around this time too, I mean, people talk about like getting into their deep spring cleaning or doing things like that.

And I think that that's great. And I'm not saying that that is not that is not beneficial. And I probably, uh, partake in some of that as well. But I also think that like looking at and like deep spring cleaning. Your own intentions, deep spring cleaning, like how am I feeling doing that? Like deep check-in.

And even just having like you come in and do the deep energy reset for our home and stuff too, and being able to be like, okay, like this is fan. Like we can go and like let go of all of the energy that was kind of stagnant or a little bit sticky. We can do all of those things and then like I know that I am personally working on the things that I want to like, and intentionally setting up and planning what this next, 12 weeks-ish will look like.

And allowing a lot of room for flexibility, spontaneity, all of those things. But just. Deciding what I want it to look like. I can have my environment surrounding me to be supporting me in that and have that lightness coming back in. I can have my relationships be able to do that. I have, um. I had followed a creator for a while and I haven't checked in as recently.

But she, instead of doing like the typical monthly planning, she would do cycles and each cycle was four weeks, and it started on Monday and it went through, but it was always a, a Monday start. Um, and then she would break it down into like 12 weeks. So she'd do the quarters, but then each week in between it was a reset week.

And so she'd take the week and just like. Okay, now I'm gonna look at everything. I'm gonna see how everything went. I'm gonna do whatever. I'm gonna reset my environment a little bit. I'm gonna reset myself. I'm gonna give myself some downtime or some connection time, or some creative time, or whatever I'm feeling like I need, and then I'm gonna hit the ground running again.

But I'm giving myself that space, and I think it was super beautiful to me because I think that so often we get in this go, go, go, go, go. And like. The next thing and the next thing and the next thing and all the weeks just kind of bleed into each other and we don't necessarily notice or take stock of where we are, what we're doing, like what's going on until it feels overwhelming, and then mm-hmm.

We, you know, might do it then. And, but it was like, how lovely to just be like, yes, I'm gonna, you know, I'm gonna work hard. I'm gonna do all these things for this, this quarter, and then I'm gonna take a week to just kind of like. Whew. All right.

Now what I did it,

like, actually, what do I wanna do? I'm gonna plan this out.

I'm gonna do all this stuff. I'm gonna take some rest.

Yeah. That's fantastic. I have, um, a dream of owning a cafe someday.

Mm.

Um, and in my dream, it's a very, I love the seasons. I love decorating. We love holidays in our houses house. And so the dream was kind of quarterly, something similar that every quarter it shuts down for a week or two.

Everything gets redecorated, menus get rewritten 'cause it's so much more fun for me to like, you know, you have that limited time of something, you enjoy it, but then you get the variety of something else the next season. I love that. So this, but also this idea of rest, that it's not, I think it's. I think that that's come up actually a few times this week.

This kind of next level idea of when you're starting out and you're trying to figure it out, it's yes, yes to everything and push, push, push, push, push. And then when you get to establish yourself a little bit, you think, well, I am the creator of my little world. How can I create what works for me?

But then work with that limiting belief of if I don't show up all the time, every way. That I'm somehow falling behind. And I love that period of, it's not just intentional rest, but it's like that space between that allows that we talk about a lot, but scheduling it in and going, yep, this is part of Melo,

this is it.

I love it. I think I, it is just like, okay. And I've been trying to just even do. Where I'm like, okay, so we just got back this weekend. Like this would be the start of my reset week. And like, okay. So I told the children, I'm like, all right, our school stuff's gonna be a little lighter this week. We're gonna do a little bit our lighter school work.

Um, a lot of the local school districts on spring break, we don't really do spring break 'cause we just take it when we have our vacations. But it's like, we'll be a little bit lighter and then like. We're gonna go and we're gonna do some stuff around the house, we're gonna do some other things. And even just looking at like meal planning, I'm like, oh, I can start like bringing in some more spring or seasonal things.

Yeah. Like all of the, like all of these little things that are just gonna make me feel like something is a little different. Like something is a little like I get to take down my fairy lights and my snowflake soon and like bring in more things and, um. Yeah, I just think that like being able to notice and whatever, you don't have to do it seasonally.

You can do it on the calendar. Like you can choose whatever, um, for you, your season is yours.

Work with the moon. Work with, yeah,

yeah, for sure. And there's so many opportunities to do that. And then knowing that like if I miss this one totally cool, I can just grab the next Monday or I can just grab the next Amen.

Like there's so many, uh, opportunities to do that.

Yeah, I love that reminder. There's always another boat. You didn't miss the boat. Um, by chance, did you pull a card to point us in?

did. Great direction for April.

I did. All right. So this one, I don't know if we've gotten this one before. Opportunity.

Opportunity,

yeah, I can't. A little card there. The moon through the pine trees. An occasional owl hoot and the song of a solo coyote punctuate the stillness. In the stillness In the forest as a traveler walks through the pines light from a waning moon, filters down through the canopy of needles and cascades across the forest floor.

Sometimes the trees obscure the moon, but sometimes its illumination. Clearly shows the paths ahead. Pines are one of the most ancient plants on the planet. They have existed nearly three times longer than all flowering plants species.

Oh,

because most pines stay green all winter, they traditionally represent longevity, immortality, fertility, health, and abundance.

The moon and her gossamer glow represents the feminine and receptive side of life. Just as the moon receives and reflects the light of the sun, symbolically the moon represents receiving the goodness of the universe flowing to you. Gifts from the universe are ready to cascade into your life. Abundance, health, longevity, vitality, and joy are flowing to you gently and easily in the days ahead.

There may be times when the goodness of life feels like it's ebbing and flowing rather than being a steady stream of fulfillment. This is similar to the moon peeking through the pine trees for a moment or two, but as you stay open and receptive, physical and emotional gifts will come into your life.

Instead of bemoaning the fact that there isn't a study and constant stream of joy and gifts from the universe, accept whatever you receive and a spirit of gratitude and your bounty will increase tenfold. This is a universal law.

It's such one a wonderful launching pad for the next month, but a beautiful reflection of the conversation we just had.

Yeah.

Tuning into the cycles, receiving the gifts, taking pause and remembering your desires are for you.

Yeah and just like accepting where I am and like moving and accepting

where I am

and moving forward. Like being so grateful for everything that I have and trusting that more is to come. That's so beautiful.

It doesn't have to be constant. Be able to keep up with constant, I'm gonna have some other flow.

That's true. What is it that I used to, when I first started my personal development journey, I listened to a lot of Abraham Hicks.

Mm-hmm.

And they made some analogy one day of like, of food, you wanna be well fed every day.

But you don't want all the food for the rest of your lifetime showing up in your doorstep in one day.

Yeah. No, thank you.

Yeah, good point. Yeah. Fantastic. Thank you so much again. I learned and really enjoy speaking with you. So happy April.

Happy April. I.

As you move through the season, here's a couple things to take with you. First, pay attention to where you're holding pressure. Not everything needs to be solved or figured out right now. When you take the pressure off, you create space for clarity, creativity, and energy to return. And second, come back to what you can actually control.

Your intentions, your energy, and how you choose to show up each day. The small aligned choices you make on an ordinary Tuesday matter more than any big plan you're trying to force. This is your reminder that growth doesn't come from pushing harder. It comes from tuning in, trusting yourself, and allowing things to unfold in a way that fits your life.

If this episode resonated, take a moment to reflect on what this next season is asking of you and what you're ready to release to step into.
